Combo Welder

Welding position primarily on turnarounds with occasional shop work. Mostly welded pipe spools but assisted with structural welding as needed. Assisted with fit up and tacking. Welded split tees for hot tapping operations. Completed weld build up on damaged parts to assist machinists with repairs. Utilized the GTAW and SMAW processes. 

Structural Welder

Worked as a team to install, align and repair kilns, dryers and ball mills as well as inspect, repair and replace components. Often used carbon air arc gouging to repair cracks and remove old components. Supervised small jobs/projects and was offered a supervisor position before I left the company. Work extensively with rigging/bull rigging and signaled to cranes. Utilized the SMAW and FCAW processes mainly and used GTAW as needed. 

Combo Welder

Started at a maintenance position at Chevron Phillips Chemical in Baytown TX, moved onto a turnaround position at IPA in Mansfield, LA. Followed job packages, weld procedures and instructions from QC's to make welds on various different pipes, materials and sizes. Fabricated metal structures and assisted in structural welding as needed. Welded anything from socket welds to repairing a air filter vent on a unit. Utilized the GTAW and SMAW processes.
