I have worked in a broad spectrum of industrial and commercial environments. The first ten years of my career were spent with an OEM company that produced a wide variety of automated equipment. We designed, manufactured, installed and commissioned a variety of equipment ranging from the DDG class destroyer steering gear systems, amusement park automated attractions, as well as oil and gas field equipment. I spent about two years in the fabrication environment, two years in the design department, and the remainder as a field service engineer.
