Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee operational, technical, and administrative matters for a CMI operation
  • Work closely with our client"s executive leadership team and marketing department to increase the company visibility, strategic partnerships, contract awards, geographic expansion of services, acquisition and joint venture business opportunities
  • Research, track and respond to invitations to bids (RFP's)
  • Direct oversight in proposal development, pricing, contract negotiations and management
  • Implement and enhance consistent practices to ensure services are delivered in accordance with company initiatives, expectations, and the strategic plan
  • Make sure all projects adhere to company quality control program and safety standards
  • Provide technical direction and guidance, as well as hands-on project management, as needed, to mentor staff
  • Be the driving force in developing the team's work ethic, culture, and values through personal example in a manner that is consistent with our client"s policies
  • Represent our client at industry-related professional organization events, conferences, meetings, panels, trade shows, symposiums or workshops

Education and Experience Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in transportation engineering and construction management.
  • 5+ years of experience in managerial or supervisory role
  • Demonstrated experience working with VDOT and local government transportation departments
  • Proficient in proposal development, pricing, contract negotiations, management and procurement
  • Experience working with capital funding and operating budgets
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management/Inspection or related is required
  • A Virginia registered professional engineering (P.E.) or National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying(NCEES) registered.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, and presentation skills

Employment Requirements

  • U.S. Citizen, Green Card Resident, or Work Authorization in the United States
  • Ability to successfully pass a federal, state, and local security background check
