job.description: Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee operational, technical, and administrative matters for a CMI operation
- Work closely with our client"s executive leadership team and marketing department to increase the company visibility, strategic partnerships, contract awards, geographic expansion of services, acquisition and joint venture business opportunities
- Research, track and respond to invitations to bids (RFP's)
- Direct oversight in proposal development, pricing, contract negotiations and management
- Implement and enhance consistent practices to ensure services are delivered in accordance with company initiatives, expectations, and the strategic plan
- Make sure all projects adhere to company quality control program and safety standards
- Provide technical direction and guidance, as well as hands-on project management, as needed, to mentor staff
- Be the driving force in developing the team's work ethic, culture, and values through personal example in a manner that is consistent with our client"s policies
- Represent our client at industry-related professional organization events, conferences, meetings, panels, trade shows, symposiums or workshops
Education and Experience Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in transportation engineering and construction management.
- 5+ years of experience in managerial or supervisory role
- Demonstrated experience working with VDOT and local government transportation departments
- Proficient in proposal development, pricing, contract negotiations, management and procurement
- Experience working with capital funding and operating budgets
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management/Inspection or related is required
- A Virginia registered professional engineering (P.E.) or National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying(NCEES) registered.
- Excellent oral and written communication, and presentation skills
