Position Specific Responsibilities:  

 

·        Ensure that all project deliverables are produced per Construction Services Department standard operating procedures.

 

·        Attend turn over and kick off meetings.

 

·        Thoroughly review contract documents. Report all conflicts, constructability issues, omissions, etc. to the Project Manager. Prepare RFI documents as required.

 

·        Identify value engineering opportunities. Analyze cost savings and present the results to the Project Manager.

 

·        Obtain design models and electronic files from Engineer/CM/GC.

 

·        Administer electronic media per our client's Drawing Standard.

 

·        3D Model electrical components per NEC and our client's Drawing Standard.

 

·        Confirm, through the coordination process, that electrical components can be installed without conflict.

 

·        Create and distribute installation drawings per our client's Drawing Standard.

 

·        Create task specific work assignments.

 

·        Encourage maximum utilization of prefabrication on each project. Work with the Account Manager and Foreman to develop a prefabrication plan. Prepare design and installation documents for the prefabrication plan.

 

·        Assist account management staff to create and update project schedules.

 

·        Perform coordination model management.

 

 

III. General Responsibilities


·        Participate fully in all training, meetings, and seminars as directed by the Director of Construction Services.

 

·        Assume additional tasks as assigned by the manager or which logically inherent to this position.

 

·        Take a proactive approach to project planning in order to maximize profit opportunities.

 

·        Regularly communicate information concerning department operations to the Director of Construction Services.

 

·        Participate in trade associations, committees and programs that advance the construction industry, the community and our client.

 

·        Actively pursue and generate business opportunities and cultivate relationships with existing and potential customers, while ensuring complete customer satisfaction.

 

·        Ensure that all duties of this position and those of team members reporting to this position are carried out in compliance with our client's stated mission, vision, values, safety standards, and company policies and procedures.

 

·        Maintain vendor relationships that enhance and protect the corporation's position, while working within both the company’s policies and the current legal standards. This includes taking necessary precautions to avoid situations that could be construed as a conflict of interest or that could be deemed to be sufficient to unduly influence the employee's ability to make prudent decisions that are in the best interest of the corporation. If there are any questions concerning a specific situation, the employee's participation is to be approved in advance by the manager of this position.

 

·        Be willing to work whatever hours are necessary to ensure that job duties are performed completely and accurately.

 

 

 

IV. Desired Education and / or Experience Level:

 

·        Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Construction Management or Construction Engineering

 

or

 

·        Journeyman Electrician

 

Beyond the desired education level listed above, this position requires continuing education each year in an area directly related to this position. These hours, courses, training or certifications are to be approved by the employee’s department manager before attending classes in order to be accepted under this plan.

 

 

V. Desired Qualifications:

 

·        Autodesk Certified Professional

 

 

VI. Necessary Skills:

 

·             Proficient in or willing to be trained on the following software:

·            AutoCAD MEP

·            Revit MEP

·            Navisworks Manager

·            Primavera P6

·            Microsoft Project

·            Accubid

·            Microsoft Office Suite

 

·        Capable of reading, interpreting and understanding contract documents, plans, and specifications.

 

·        Ability to navigate and comprehend the National Electrical Code.

 

·        Good verbal and written communication skills.

 

·        Effective reasoning and judgment abilities.

 

·        Ability to work in a fast paced environment.

 

·        Sense of urgency and ability to aggressively deal with project conditions.

 

·        Ability to capitalize on opportunities.

 

 

 

VII. Job Environment:

 

Must be able to withstand high requirements for manual dexterity associated with computer data entry. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hand or fingers to handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance; and stoop kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception. While this position is primarily internally based, candidates must be able to maneuver and manipulate in a construction atmosphere without jeopardizing their safety or that of others.
