Summary SiteWorker is committed to leading the Responsible Portfolio Transition. SiteWorker’s 2024 Triennial Integrated Resource Plan (IRP) calls for 3,600 MWs of new wind and solar and 2,445 MWs of new conventional generating assets over the next ten years. Reporting to the Director – Conventional Generation Projects, the candidate will have technical responsibility to support the development of conventional generation projects. This engineer will support conventional generation projects with an emphasis on technical responsibility for the turbines and other mechanical systems. Working with a team of Project Managers and other engineers, the engineer will support the safe, timely, cost-effective, and environmentally sound delivery of conventional generation projects. The projects will include conventional generation such as simple cycle combustion turbines and combined cycle combustion turbines. The candidate will also have the opportunity to stay abreast of the latest leading-edge technologies, such as thermal storage and small-modular reactors. The projects the engineer will assist with are likely to be complex, multi-million-dollar capital projects with multi-year timeframes that span diverse disciplines.
This candidate will provide engineering support to the development, construction, and commissioning of steam and combustion turbines and will also be responsible for troubleshooting turbine/generator problems.
Education and Experience Requirements:This position requires a minimum Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with at least 4 years of engineering experience in the design, construction, and/or maintenance of steam and combustion gas turbines, including generators and exciters. The applicant must be willing to work nights and weekends as needed.
Additional Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Knowledge of GE, Mitsubishi, and/or Siemens Steam Turbines/Generators and Combustion Turbines required. Troubleshooting of operating issues with Turbines and Combustion Turbines is expected. OEM certification is preferred. The successful candidate must possess high initiative and strong interpersonal skills and exhibit good computer skills.

Working Conditions: Must have the ability to perform the physical activities of the job. Requires extensive on-site plant work with some office work. Requires the ability to work outdoors and in an industrial plant environment, including, but not limited to, exposure to ambient temperature extremes, dusty/moist environments, climbing ladders and stairways, working at heights on elevated structures and platforms, and working in cramped spaces occasionally, which may require bending, stooping, and standing. Travel is expected to development sites at least 10% of the time, up to 100% during peak construction and commissioning. Some in-state and out-of-state travel required.
