job.description: Are you an experienced Telecom Technician with expertise in ICT cabling and a strong ability to install and maintain complex network cable infrastructure? At SiteWorker, we’re dedicated to advancing connectivity by bringing top talent to critical projects. We’re seeking a skilled Telecom Technician in Deadhorse, Alaska, to join our team and work on some of the most challenging and high-profile telecom projects in the region. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform site surveys (pre-construction)
- Interpret drawings and develop and implement job plan while adhering to industry codes and standards and company safety plan.
- Build Telecom Spaces and pathways.
- Install, terminate, and test fiber, copper and coaxial structured cabling systems.
- Install telecommunications equipment in both indoor and outdoor environments.
- Communicate effectively with clients, project managers, supervisors, and coworkers.
- Ability to travel to remote sites and problem solve with limited resources.
- Maintain AsBuilt documentation.
- Work well under pressure.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- At least 5 years of verifiable experience
- Experience planning and implementing ICT installations while employing industry standards and best practices resulting in reliable system performance.
- Advanced testing and troubleshooting skills with both copper and optical fiber installations.
- Experience reviewing and understand drawings, cut-sheets and schematics.
- Experience leading an installation team by employing basic project management skills.
- ETA Fiber Optic Technician or BICSI Technician credentials preferred.
- Knowledge of industry codes, standards, and regulations.
- Experience performing site surveys.
- Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Productivity Suite.
- Experience working in remote arctic environments preferred.
- Rotational schedule of at least 11.5 hours per day for a minimum of 21 days consecutively.
- On-call 24x7 while on rotation.
