We are seeking a skilled Solar Survey Technician to support site

planning and layout for utility-scale solar projects. This role requires strong

technical expertise with Trimble systems and field survey equipment to ensure

accurate site measurements and data collection for both new installations and

maintenance upgrades. The technician will play a key role in the design and

execution of solar farm projects by providing precise survey data and

supporting engineering and construction teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct field surveys for solar project sites, ensuring accurate collection of topographical and geospatial data.
  • Operate Trimble survey equipment, including total stations, GPS rovers, and controllers.
  • Utilize planning lasers, rover planning, and multiplane systems to establish accurate control points and layout design.
  • Prepare and verify site plans, layouts, and alignment for solar arrays, access roads, and underground infrastructure.
  • Perform proofing and quality checks on collected data to ensure accuracy and compliance with project specifications.
  • Assist in the development of construction staking, grading plans, and as-built drawings.
  • Collaborate with project engineers, construction managers, and site supervisors to relay survey results and recommendations.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and calibrate survey equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Adhere to safety standards and site protocols at all times.

Qualifications

·        

Required: Hands-on experience with Trimble survey systems (GPS, totalstations, and data collectors).

·        

Proficiency in operating planning lasers, rover planning, and multiplane tools.

·        

2+ years of experience in surveying, preferably in solar, renewable energy, or construction environments.

·        

Strong understanding of construction staking, grading, and geospatial data collection.

·        

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, CAD files, and site plans.

·        

Excellent communication and teamwork skills to interface with engineering and field teams.

· Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

·   Willingness to work outdoors in varying site conditions.

Preferred

·    Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering,

Construction Technology, or related field.

· Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or other survey/engineering

software.

Previous experience on utility-scale solar projects.
