Job Overview:

We are looking for a qualified and experienced Solar Journeyman Electrician to join our growing team on a utility-scale solar project. As a Solar Journeyman, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems in industrial settings. This position requires hands-on experience working with MC4 cables, as well as familiarity with NEC codes, conduit bending, wire pulling, and overall solar power installations.

Key Responsibilities:

●    Oversee the installation and adjustments of substation and PV systems:

○    MC4 cables

○    Inverters, wiring, and panels

○    Combiner boxes

○    Terminations, relay, and communications

○    Switches, circuit breakers, CTs, PTs, transformer installations

○    Perform AC/DC wiring, inverter hookups, grounding, and system testing

○    Conduct inspections, testing, and quality checks on installed systems

●    Ensure installations meet all local, state, and national electrical codes (NEC).

●    Troubleshoot and resolve issues with electrical components of solar systems.

●    Collaborate with team members to deliver quality and timely installations.

●    Oversee apprentices and junior electricians on solar installation and safety practices.

●    Perform system tests and inspections to ensure functionality and safety.

●    Complete accurate documentation of work performed.

Qualifications:

●    Active Journeyman Electrician License.

●    3+ years proven experience with solar PV systems.

●    Proficient in working with MC cable and other wiring systems.

●    Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).

●    Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

●    Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints.

●    Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

Preferred:

●    Experience with both grid-tied and off-grid solar systems.

●    OSHA certification and familiarity with safety protocols.
