Solar Install Helper Responsibilities

  • Installs PV, battery and other associated systems according to engineering designs, permits and electrical code
  • Follows of all company safety guidelines
  • Ensures installation meets all company quality requirements
  • Submit timely reports through Sunnova software showing project progress, quality and completion
  • Collaborates closely with other team members to ensure an efficient installation
  • Utilizes knowledge, skills, and testing equipment to commission systems and evaluate system issues
  • Identifies solutions to resolve technical design problems
  • Manages vehicle-material stock and equipment inventory
  • Provides training to customers about system operation and maintenance

 

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma (or GED)
  • 0-1+ year experience as an electrical technician, solar installer, or solar maintenance technician
  • Current, valid Driver's license with acceptable Motor Vehicle Record
  • Proficient in speaking, reading and writing English
  • Electrical training

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • OSHA 30 Certified
  • Formal electrical apprenticeship and/or vocational training
  • 0-1 + years’ labor experience in electrical trade, general construction, or mechanical experience
  • 0-1 + years in the Solar Electric Industry
  • Bilingual, English and Spanish

 

Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Organized and maintains a professional appearance
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Reads and interprets blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams

 

Working Conditions

  • Location varies depending on job site
  • Estimated 10% travel time
  • Able to work an adjusting schedule and respond to emergencies
  • Driving Required; Valid Driver’s License and Motor Vehicle Report required

 

Physical Requirements

  • Long hours spent outside of residential rooftops, driving to customer residencies, some ground and rooftop work
  • Various weather conditions include cold and snowy, hot and humid, and everything in between; must be comfortable working in different environments
  • Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds; assistance may be provided for oversized items
  • Able to sit, stand, walk, and drive for up to 8 hours at a time
