Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Senior Fiber Optic Splicing Technician to

join our team in Northern California. In this role, you will perform advanced fusion splicing of

fiber optic cables, ensuring precision, reliability, and adherence to project standards. The ideal

candidate possesses strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and a safety-first mindset to

deliver high-quality results in demanding environments.


Responsibilities:

• Perform advanced fusion splicing of fiber optic cables with precision and accuracy.

• Test, troubleshoot, and analyze fiber optic splices using OTDRs and power meters.

• Lead and mentor junior technicians to ensure best practices and project quality.

• Read and interpret construction plans, schematics, and project documentation.

• Maintain accurate splicing records and ensure timely reporting.

• Operate, calibrate, and maintain splicing and testing equipment.

• Collaborate with project managers, construction crews, and engineers to meet deadlines.

• Prioritize safety by ensuring adherence to all safety protocols at job sites.

• Conduct terminations and installations for fiber optic networks.

• Work in outdoor, remote, and variable conditions as required.


Qualifications:

• 3+ years experience in fiber optic fusion splicing and testing.

• Proven experience with OTDRs, power meters, and fusion splicing equipment.

• Ability to interpret and execute construction blueprints and technical documentation.

• Strong leadership and team collaboration skills.

• Proficiency with computers for documentation and reporting purposes.

• Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and valid driver’s license.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors or in challenging environments.

• Willingness to travel up to 75% within Northern California.


Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification as a Fiber Optic Technician (e.g., FOA CFOT).

• Experience with aerial and underground fiber installations.


• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
