Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to execute each essential duty

satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

The individual must have a valid driver’s license be able to safely operate a vehicle.

Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned):

• Operation of map and route tracking GPS equipment

• Calibration and maintenance of the specialized sensor system

• Detection and testing of potential contact voltage hazards

• Operation, maintenance, and use of an array hand-held measuring equipment used to confirm and

assess hazard voltages appearing on publicly accessible surfaces

• Mapping and planning including:

­ Operating GPS mapping and tracking system, specifically adapted to contact voltage survey;

­ Developing route plan based on the arrangement of overhead and underground utility

distribution facilities within targeted geographic region

­ Conducting the contact voltage survey depends upon accurate measurements

­ Ensuring the rout plan is entered into the track mounted GPS system for guidance during the

actual survey activity;

­ Reading and interpreting utility supplied schematics of distribution equipment and developing

appropriate survey route overlays

• Sensor operation including:

­ Recognizing deviation of the sensor response from normal operation conditions

­ Interpreting against the observations of the layout of the electrical distribution equipment as

well as the motion of the vehicle carrying the operators and equipment

• Field investigation including:

­ Locating the exact source stimulus triggering the sensor system and signaled a potential

contact voltage hazard, and execute a field investigation procedure

­ Making accurate measurements and communicate results to utility repair crews

• Proficient with using Microsoft Office

• Capture data and imagery on iOS devices

• College degree is a plus
