job.description: A leading professional renewable energy & telecommunications services firm is seeking an experienced Journeyman Electrician for an extensive pipeline of upcoming digital menu board installation projects for a leading global fast food corporation in Miami .This individual will be responsible for electrical wiring, electronic installation, testing, alteration, maintenance of electrical systems.
- On-site contact providing direction to underground as well as installation and placement of equipment (ie. switch gear, power cabinets and dispensers).
- Performing a wide variety of duties, which demand a high degree of manual and technical competency to build, assemble and test, inspect, repair, install, modify, and maintain electrical/electronic systems, circuits and equipment.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles and installs electrical conduit using such tools as a hacksaw, pipe threader, rules and conduit benders.
- Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.
- Interpret and work from electrical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, code specifications to determine the layout of industrial electrical equipment installations.
- Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring and equipment, using standard testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, as well as observing functions to ensure compatibility and safety of components.
- Install fixtures, wiring conduits, wire pulls, breakers, fabricate, install and/or run conduit, single/3-Phase work, motor terminations, control and instrument troubleshooting and panel work
- Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
- Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
- Make layout of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date records in accordance with department procedures.
- Understanding of control systems and how to troubleshoot relays, switches, timers, and solid-state components.
- Ability to read and understand electrical one-line diagrams.
- Ability to use hand and power tools.
- Provides daily project progress to Construction Manager.
- Assures crew staff are adhering to company safety policy; assists in site clean up.
Minimum Requirements:
- 3+ years' experience in the installation, repair and maintenance of electrical systems, equipment and fixtures from blueprints, schematics and sketches or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
- Experience in commercial & industrial electrical work.
- Field installation experience.
- General electrician license required.
- Valid FL driver’s license; Non-negligent driving record.
- Be able to work late and on weekends when required.
