Role Overview
We are seeking a Japanese Speaking Wind Technician to join our operations team. This role is hands-on, working directly on wind turbines to perform mechanical and electrical maintenance, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure safe, efficient performance of assets. Fluency in Japanese and English is essential, as you will collaborate with both U.S. and international teams, equipment vendors, and technical specialists.
Location & Travel
- Base Region: Candidates may reside in Texas, Florida, or other Southeast/Central U.S. states.
- Travel: This role requires 100% travel on a rotational schedule (4 weeks on, 1 week off), supporting wind project sites across the United States, including assignments at facilities in the Southeast region.
- Flexibility: Certain reporting, training, and planning activities may be conducted remotely.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on wind turbines, with emphasis on GE platforms.
- Conduct inspections, identify and troubleshoot issues, and implement repairs to reduce downtime.
- Collaborate with international colleagues and vendors, communicating in both Japanese and English.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all maintenance and service activities.
- Uphold safety standards while working at heights and in various weather conditions.
- Train and mentor junior technicians, fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Professional fluency in Japanese and English (verbal and written).
- 2+ years of experience as a Wind Technician or Field Service Engineer.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with wind turbine maintenance (GE turbine experience preferred).
- Ability to travel extensively (4 weeks on, 1 week off rotation).
- Comfortable working at heights and in physically demanding environments.
- Technical training or certification in wind energy or related fields is a plus.
