Role Overview
We are seeking a Japanese Speaking Field Service Engineer to support the ongoing operations and maintenance of a major renewable energy facility. This role is based primarily at the Miami Energy Center, with occasional travel to nearby project sites as needed. The engineer will perform troubleshooting, testing, and corrective maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems to ensure safe and efficient plant performance.
Fluency in Japanese and English is critical, as this role involves coordination with international engineering teams, equipment manufacturers, and technical vendors.
Location & Travel
- Primary Location: Miami Energy Center (Miami, FL).
- Travel Requirement: Minimal — occasional visits to nearby regional sites may be required.
- Flexibility: While this is a site-based position, some technical documentation and reporting may be completed remotely.
Key Responsibilities

- Perform diagnostics, testing, and corrective maintenance on plant systems and equipment.
- Provide engineering support for electrical, mechanical, and control systems related to wind/renewable energy assets.
- Collaborate with internal and international stakeholders, communicating in both Japanese and English.
- Develop, review, and maintain technical documentation and maintenance records.
- Support root cause analysis of equipment issues and recommend long-term solutions.
- Assist in training and knowledge-sharing with technicians and plant staff.
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards at all times.
Qualifications
- Professional fluency in Japanese and English (verbal and written).
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related field) or equivalent technical training.
- 3+ years of experience as a Field Service Engineer, preferably in the renewable energy sector.
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting and maintaining complex electrical and mechanical systems.
- Familiarity with GE turbine systems or other renewable energy equipment strongly preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
- Strong safety awareness and commitment to compliance.
