Summary

Performs tasks related to the installation of underground and overhead electrical systems under

the field supervision of a 1st Class Lineperson or Line Foreperson.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete required apprentice coursework.

• Install overhead distribution support systems and aerial wire systems.

• Assist with substation installations.

• Install underground raceway and wire systems.

• Set up line equipment and perform medium/high voltage terminations.

• Safeguard and maintain equipment, tools, materials, and vehicles.

• Follow all safety and work policies.

Requirements

Education & Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Enrollment in an approved Apprenticeship Training Program.

• Good mechanical aptitude, strong work ethic, and ability to follow directions.

• Proficient with laptop/tablet use.

• Valid CDL license (must maintain good driving record).• Reliable transportation to/from work.

• Must purchase and maintain required personal tools.

• Willingness to travel regionally to job sites.

Physical

• 40 hours/week, 8–10 hour shifts.

• Frequent standing, climbing, kneeling, lifting, and bending.

• Lift/carry 10–75 lbs. (occasional up to 75 lbs.).

• Ability to climb up to 70 feet.

• Adequate vision, balance, and coordination for electrical tasks
