We are seeking skilled and safety-focused Heavy Highway Carpenters to join our construction team in Fargo, ND. This role involves working on large-scale infrastructure projects, including bridges, aqueducts, and flood diversion structures. The ideal candidate will have experience in heavy civil construction and a commitment to quality workmanship.

Key Responsibilities

  • Construct, erect, install, and repair structures and forms conforming to federal, state, and local codes.
  • Study plans, sketches, and specifications to determine materials required and dimensions of structures to be fabricated.
  • Prepare layouts and shape materials to prescribed measurements.
  • Assemble cut and shaped materials and fasten them together as needed.
  • Erect framework for structures and construct forms and chutes for pouring concrete.
  • Erect scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground level.
  • Weld metal parts to steel structural members as required.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure timely and quality completion of tasks.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in heavy highway carpentry.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction documents and blueprints.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and at heights.
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations and procedures.
  • Willingness to work 40 or more hours per week and travel within the state as needed.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with formwork systems and concrete pouring techniques.
  • Familiarity with the use of power tools and heavy equipment.
  • Ability to lead or mentor junior carpenters.
