job.description:

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team for a 6-month project in

Homestead, FL. The ideal candidate will have experience operating John Deere bulldozers

equipped with Topcon GPS and Volvo mid to large-size excavators for earthwork. A background

in road construction or utility work (water, sewer, etc.) is preferred.


Key Responsibilities:

● Operate heavy machinery, including John Deere bulldozers with Topcon GPS and Volvo

excavators, to perform earthmoving and grading tasks.

● Interpret project plans and specifications to execute work according to design

requirements.

● Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment,

reporting any defects or necessary repairs to the supervisor.

● Collaborate with project managers and other team members to ensure efficient and safe

operations.

● Adhere to all safety protocols and OSHA regulations to maintain a safe work

environment.


Qualifications:

● Proven experience operating John Deere bulldozers with Topcon GPS and Volvo mid to

large-size excavators.

● Preferred background in road construction or utility work (water, sewer, etc.).

● OSHA 40-hour certification is required.

● Ability to read and interpret blueprints, maps, and project plans.

● Strong understanding of safety procedures and protocols related to heavy equipment

operation.

● Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.

● Physical stamina and dexterity necessary for the demands of heavy equipment

operation.

Physical Requirements:

● Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally.

● Capability to work in various weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.

● Proficiency in performing tasks that require bending, lifting, walking, and carrying heavy

materials.


Work Environment:

● The project involves outdoor work in a construction setting, with exposure to varying

weather conditions.

● Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, gloves, safety glasses,

and steel-toed boots is mandatory.

● Strict adherence to safety standards and protocols is required to prevent accidents and

injuries.
