job.description: During major outage events, damage assessors, working as part of a two person Survey Team, will conduct an assessment of the electric distribution system and will report back any damage found to the damage assessment coordinator.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITES:
- Working as part of a two person Survey Team, conduct an assessment of the circuit or area assigned by the Damage Assessment Coordinator or Dispatcher.
- If patrolling entire circuits, mark device status (open/closed) and report all damage along the mainline 3-phase, noting each damage location and a description in the Field Mobility app, or if not available, on circuit maps.
- If patrolling individual trouble incidents, confirm or correct the predicted device location and pole number. Report the cause for the outage and location of damage in the Field Mobility app, or if not available, on the incident report. When necessary, check customer meters to assess whether location has power or not.
- Immediately report any downed and/or leaking transformers or other hazardous conditions to the Damage Assessment Coordinator.
- Provide the Damage Assessment Coordinator damage assessment reports via the Field Mobility app, Storm Lookup forms, or marked-up circuit maps, as directed. Wireless damage reports can be sent immediately. Reports by phone should be made as per the direction of the Damage Assessment Coordinator at the time of assignment (e.g. report periodically, or report as each damage location is found).
- Stand by and protect the public from any wires down that are a hazard to public safety until a repair crew, or Wire Watcher arrives.
- Contact the Damage Assessment Coordinator or Dispatcher if you will be patrolling off-road sections of the circuit.
- Each Damage Assessor is responsible for coordinating their own meals.
- Will need to provide company vehicle to travel from location to location.
- If necessary leave company provided door tag.
