job.description: The Cost Control Engineer will be responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and forecasting the financial aspects of large-scale infrastructure projects. This role ensures that projects are completed within budget and financial guidelines, supporting the overall success of the construction initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Budget Management: Develop and maintain project budgets, including coding timesheets, processing invoices, and monitoring progress per cost account .
- Financial Analysis: Monitor, analyze, and forecast the financial outcomes of each sub-project and the overall construction project .
- Reporting: Generate accurate and timely financial reports, dashboards, and performance KPIs for internal and external stakeholders.
- Change Management: Oversee change order management, ensuring documentation and impact analysis are properly maintained.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, estimators, finance, and field teams to ensure alignment and data accuracy.
- Risk Assessment: Conduct regular project audits and risk assessments to proactively identify deviations or potential financial issues.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in cost control within heavy civil, infrastructure, or utility construction projects.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in cost control software (e.g., SAP, Procore, Viewpoint) and Microsoft Excel.
- Communication: Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications in cost control or project management are advantageous.
Preferred Qualifications
- P3 Experience: Experience working on public-private partnership projects.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with federal and state regulations pertaining to infrastructure maintenance and environmental compliance.
