A leading professional renewable energy services firm is seeking an experienced Construction Manager for an extensive pipeline of upcoming electric vehicle charging station installation projects in Northern California. This individual will be responsible for planning and contracting as well as the up-front office work. The ideal candidate will give continuity between pre construction and field work.


  • Accountable for managing all phases of the construction project(s)
  • Managing and administering construction contracts
  • Ensuring all contractual requirements/special provisions are being met, providing quality assurance for the construction elements installed, and acting as the owner's representative for the successful completion of the assigned electric vehicle project(s)
  • Complete the construction planning efforts, help establish construction protocols and management procedures, and play a critical role in establishing field oversight and inspection teams.
  • Complete the design/development stage and to help lead the program into the construction and commissioning stages



Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Read and familiarize yourself with all Scopes of Work (SOW's) and approved designs and plans
  • Develop detailed project construction budget and project schedule based on aforementioned plans and any constraints - Provide a rolling two-week look ahead schedule
  • Obtain necessary permitting and certifications for project execution
  • Manage all safety documentation required for all construction site activities, including but not limited to - Operator Certifications, Job Hazard Analysis docs, SSSP's, Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), Methods Of Procedure (MOP's), Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO)
  • Conduct site walks and attend design review meetings
  • Hold and manage weekly construction meetings
  • Conduct bid-walks with General Contractors
  • Conduct pre-construction walks with General Contractors, Landlords and MLA’s
  • Manage general contractors and ensure work is built on time, within budget and per the clients standards
  • Create punch list
  • Take photos daily representing progress of work as directed
  • Inspect the subcontractor work daily for quality control
  • Raise any deficiencies with the site foreman that require remediation
  • Ensure the job site is clean and free of debris
  • Ensure the subcontractors have adequate manpower and equipment on hand to maintain the schedule
  • Leave no doubt that your job is to correct and immediately escalate any non-compliance to safety, quality, and performance
  • Be vigilant - attention to detail shows that you care, that you are professional, and it earns you respect



Minimum Requirements:


  • Minimum of 5 years (preferably more) of relevant experience as a site superintendent, project or construction manager
  • Experience working directly with sub-contractor’s
  • General contractor
  • Familiarity with major equipment suppliers
  • Ability to read and understand telecom designs and CAD drawings
  • Valid CA driver’s license
  • Non-negligent driving record
  • Be able to work late and on weekends when required
  • Satisfactory results from a background check


Nice to Have:

  • Experience working on multiple electric vehicle projects with intimate knowledge of the erection & assembly of charging stations
  • Bachelors in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, or Electrical), Construction Management, or Business Management
