job.description: Siteworker is seeking 2 registered apprentices for the Construction Laborer / Construction Craft Laborer occupation to support concrete operations on a energy storage project in Palatka, Florida. This is an apprenticeship position offered in compliance with IRS guidance under the Inflation Reduction Act and is intended to provide qualified apprentices with hands-on, on-the-job training in concrete construction techniques under the supervision of experienced craft workers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Load and unload construction materials, tools, and equipment at the project site
- Clean and prepare concrete work areas prior to pours and operations
- Learn to review and assess formwork, grades, and elevations in preparation for concrete pours
- Assist with concrete placement, pouring, spreading, leveling, and finishing of concrete surfaces
- Learn the proper use of hand and power finishing tools and equipment under supervision
- Support and assist experienced craft workers in all concrete-related construction operations
- Perform end-of-day cleanup activities associated with concrete work
- Comply with all site safety protocols, PPE requirements, and OSHA regulations
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be enrolled in or eligible to participate in a registered apprenticeship program (DOL-approved)
- Registered in the Construction Laborer / Construction Craft Laborer apprenticeship occupation
- Ability to perform physically demanding work in outdoor construction environments
- Capable of lifting, carrying, and moving materials weighing up to 50 lbs
- Reliable transportation to the project site in Palatka, Florida
- Availability to report by 6:30 AM and work 50 hours per week for the project duration
- Ability to work as part of a team and follow direction from journeyworkers and supervisors
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior experience in concrete construction, site labor, or related trades
- OSHA 10 certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start)
- Familiarity with basic hand and power tools used in concrete finishing
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position involves sustained physical activity in an active outdoor construction environment. Apprentices
must be able to:
- Stand, walk, bend, stoop, and kneel for extended periods throughout the workday
- Work in varying weather conditions including heat, humidity, and occasional rain
- Operate safely in proximity to heavy equipment and active construction zones
- Wear and maintain required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times on site
