This role involves actively participating in the construction of structural concrete projects,
supervising field crews and subcontractors, and ensuring projects are completed safely,
efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. The Concrete Structures Foreman will lead by
example, uphold strict safety protocols, and coordinate project activities to meet schedule and
budget expectations.
Responsibilities
● Maintain a strong commitment to safety by modeling, educating, and enforcing safe work
practices and company policies.
● Determine appropriate crew size and equipment needs to achieve efficient, cost-effective
production.
● Ensure timely scheduling and delivery of materials to avoid project delays.
● Participate in weekly look-ahead schedule meetings and use this schedule to manage
work effectively.
● Understand project budgets and estimated costs and manage work accordingly.
● Read and interpret contract drawings and specifications to guide project execution.
● Complete each work activity fully before moving to the next and maintain a clean, orderly
work area.
● Identify and document extra work items and promptly notify supervision.
● Care for and properly utilize company-owned equipment, including trucks and small
tools.
● Manage use of rental equipment to minimize unnecessary expenses.
● Accurately maintain and submit daily documentation, such as timesheets, material
tickets, truck logs, and production reports.
● Collaborate productively with other foremen, crews, and subcontractors.
● Proactively analyze work activities for safety risks and implement protective measures.
● Ensure all crew members use proper safety equipment consistently.
● Maintain effective communication with clients to ensure a high level of satisfaction.
● Coordinate with contractors and subcontractors to align project goals and schedules.
Qualifications
● Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Foreman in structural concrete and bridge
construction.
● Strong knowledge of structural concrete work, including forming, placing, and finishing.
● Proven ability to manage and lead crews of 4 or more employees.
● Proficient in reading and interpreting schedules, plans, and specifications.
● Effective leadership and communication skills for directing crews and coordinating
project details.
● In-depth understanding of safety regulations and job site hazard prevention.
● Ability to maintain accurate project documentation including production reports,
timesheets, equipment logs, and change orders.
● Willingness to perform administrative and project-related duties as needed.
● Valid driver’s license required.
Work Environment
● Regular exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
● Occasional exposure to mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and vibration.
● Frequent work in loud environments.
● Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including hard hat, safety
glasses, gloves, safety-toe boots, and safety vest.
Physical Demands
● Ability to move or lift up to 50 lbs.
● Must be able to traverse uneven, steep, or irregular terrain.
● Ability to react quickly to sounds and potential hazards.
● Capable of bending, stooping, climbing, and reaching as required on job sites.
