The Commissioning Technician will be responsible for troubleshooting, problem remediation, and testing on medium voltage DC systems for large-scale, utility-grade solar projects (4-40 MW). This role involves hands-on work to ensure the safe and efficient operation of solar systems, meeting industry standards and performance specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
● Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on medium voltage DC systems in utility-scale solar projects.
● Conduct testing on various system components to ensure proper functionality and compliance with specifications.
● Identify, analyze, and resolve technical issues to minimize system downtime and maintain optimal performance.
● Collaborate with other team members and project leads to ensure timely completion of commissioning activities.
Project Scope and Equipment:
● Work on large utility-scale solar projects ranging from 4 MW to 40 MW.
● Handle medium voltage DC systems, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and industry standards.
● Use client-provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Flame-Resistant (FR) gear, and tooling for safe and compliant operation.
Qualifications:
● Proven experience with medium voltage DC systems, preferably within the solar or renewable energy sector.
● Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for electrical systems.
● Familiarity with utility-scale solar project commissioning and testing processes.
● Proficiency in using testing equipment and tools relevant to solar and medium voltage systems.
● Ability to interpret technical documents, including electrical schematics and diagrams.
● Strong adherence to safety protocols and industry regulations.
● Certifications: OSHA 10, NFPA70E
Requirements:
● Ability to work 40 hours per week with the possibility of travel to various project sites.
● Ability to work outdoors and in varied weather conditions.
● Physically capable of handling equipment and working in confined spaces when required.
