job.description: We are looking for an experienced Civil Superintendent to oversee and manage civil construction projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring project safety, quality, schedule, and budget adherence while leading field teams and coordinating with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily civil construction operations, including site preparation, grading, utilities, foundations, and roadwork.
- Ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards.
- Supervise and direct field personnel, subcontractors, and suppliers to maintain productivity and efficiency.
- Monitor project schedules, budgets, and resources to ensure timely and cost-effective completion.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to address any issues and maintain project objectives.
- Enforce safety policies and procedures, conducting site inspections and ensuring OSHA compliance.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including daily reports, progress updates, and change orders.
- Lead and motivate field crews while fostering a culture of teamwork and accountability.
- Coordinate material deliveries, equipment usage, and site logistics to prevent delays.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks that may impact project performance.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Civil Superintendent or similar role in heavy civil construction.
- Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, site development, earthwork, and infrastructure projects.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, specifications, and project documentation.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and adapt to changing project conditions.
- Strong understanding of OSHA safety standards and commitment to enforcing a safety-first culture.
- Proficiency in construction management software, scheduling tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working on large-scale civil infrastructure projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred but not required).
- Certifications such as OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR, or PMP are a plus.
